Previous Projects & Reports

Our team has contributed to several high-impact environmental and policy-driven initiatives, particularly in the areas of natural resource management, waste management, and sustainable development across Kenya. Below is a highlight of recent projects and reports:

Policy Brief on Solid Waste Management in Naivasha Municipality (2024)

In collaboration with the Lake Naivasha Basin Landscape Association (LANABLA), our expert environmental consultant led a comprehensive baseline assessment and policy review on solid waste management in Naivasha. The project involved stakeholder engagement, data collection, and policy analysis aimed at promoting a circular economy and climate-resilient municipality. The final policy brief has been a guiding tool for informed decision-making by both local authorities and national policymakers.

We supported LANABLA in developing robust Terms of Reference to guide the engagement of environmental experts in the waste management space. This involved defining strategic objectives, guiding stakeholder coordination, and strengthening the role of civil society in municipal environmental governance.

Conducted a detailed SWOT analysis of the waste management ecosystem in Naivasha Municipality, focusing on infrastructure gaps, private sector participation, enforcement mechanisms, and community involvement. Recommendations provided have informed proposals for material recovery facilities (MRFs), improved zoning, and institutional reforms.

Led inclusive, multi-stakeholder forums comprising Water Resource Users Associations, Community Forest Associations, County departments, and private sector actors. These participatory approaches ensured that policy formulation reflected local realities, and fostered a shared vision for sustainable land and waste management in the Lake Naivasha Basin.

Conducted a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the ANA Agroforestry Carbon Project spanning Kirinyaga, Nyeri, and Laikipia counties. The project, targeting 60,000 smallholder farmers and 6 million trees, promotes climate-smart agriculture and biodiversity. The ESIA informed compliance with NEMA and the Carbon Markets Regulations 2024 under the Plan Vivo Standard.
